Vocabulary List by Week These vocabulary words are assigned on top of the words in your Springboard books and are due every Monday in the vocabulary section of your binder. I will check every week for a grade. Your responsibilities for each word are to: 1. write each word and its part of speech—if more than one, list all. 2. write the definition of the word (SO THAT YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS). Do not type out a definition that includes the vocabulary word within it. If the word has more than one definition, type all. 3. write one carefully constructed and ORIGINAL sentence using each word. Do not lift the sentences from dictionary.com or other sources. When constructing these sentences try to incorporate literature: discuss works we’ve read, or apply them to rhetoric if you can. PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT want you to cut and paste definitions from dictionary.com. Your definitions should be paraphrases of definitions you’ve found. Also, you are NOT to copy work from your peers or allow peers to copy your work. This lesson is designed to help you all improve your vocabulary; please work with me. THERE WILL BE QUIZZES.
