All major courses meet daily for 77 minutes for one semester (two terms) and receive 1 credit. Some AP courses meet for three terms and students receive 1.5 credits. Other courses meet for one term and students receive .5 credit. All students are required to take four academic courses each term. There are no study periods. The block schedule was implemented in 1996. Students at the high school level have one course per year in the target language and continue through the AP French Program in their senior year. Communicative proficiency through content-based instruction is the overall goal of the program. Extracurricular Activities A wide variety of extracurricular activities are available to students to enhance social experiences and personal growth. Activities include interscholastic athletics, publications, community service and clubs focused on the arts, science, math and social awareness.
