October is National Bullying Prevention Month
Join the movement! The End of Bullying Begins with Me: that’s
the message during PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Month
in October. It’s a time when communities can unite nationwide to
raise awareness of bullying prevention through events, activities,

Student-led bullying prevention movement uniting peers to create positive
inspired change. The WE WILL Generation is an exciting new initiative
developed by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center that uses a

Policies and Laws
As of March 2014, most U.S states have enacted
legislation requiring school districts to adopt policies
regarding bullying. State and local lawmakers have
taken action to prevent bullying and protect children.
Through laws (in their state education codes and elsewhere) and model policies (that provide
guidance to districts and schools), each state addresses bullying differently. Find out how your
state refers to bullying in its laws and what they require on part of schools and districts.

Future Child Advocates of America (FCAA)
The overall goal of the FCA student organization/club is to demonstrate
and provide opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students
to become more aware of the issues involving the abuse and
bullying of children, especially those who are more vulnerable, i.e.
those with disabilities or who are considered "different". The
clubs are also designed to develop skills and leadership that will be
useful for next generation professionals to provide assistance to their
communities and make a difference.

Book Set: The Weird Series
These three books tell the story of an ongoing case of
bullying from three third graders’ perspectives — the
bullied, the bully and a bystander. Readers will enjoy
tracking small details that carry over from one book to
another. Each book has action pages for kids, as well as
information to help parents and teachers reinforce the
books’ messages and foster dialogue. (Ages 5-9).
