Each Student is asked to volunteer at least 25 hours a school year helping others. Shop, Laundry, kitchen, janitorial, admin, etc. The student must fill out a Service Form and turn it in to be approved. They include a reflection on the experience. New Battle name for our sports teams. The name "Oaklawn Academy Knights" was introduced. Having a mascot and a "battle name" can contribute to a greater identification with the academy and boost the Oaklawn spirit. WHY?
