This position works with young people in an Outreach capacity and travel within the Metro CBD and outer regions is expected. Will be required to regularly travel to designated regions, to head office and sub offices and for stakeholder engagement. Working Conditions This is a part time (0.9 EFT) ongoing contract. Some evening and weekend work will be required. Flexible work arrangements can be facilitated where it can be demonstrated all work requirements can be fulfilled. Salary is ranged at $46,007.52 – 49330.32 (Pro-Rata) based on experience and qualifications plus superannuation. Salary packaging applies to this position. An extra 3 annual leave days are granted during the Christmas period. You are employed as a Support Worker within Whitelion. Key Selection Criteria EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS Relevant tertiary qualification in youth work, social work, psychology, social science or related area and/or demonstrated relevant employment experience SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Understanding of the needs of young people involved with the Youth Justice and Child Protection systems Demonstrated commitment and ability to work effectively with young people, their families and communities Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport and trust Well-developed written and verbal communication skills Experience/ability to run group programs in both community and custodial environments Excellent organisational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to undertake a police check and Working with Children Check.
