What is transferable?
• Only the courses included in the UC
approved list
• Any other UC transferable courses
taken at other universities or community
colleges must be counted in the total.
• Maximum units allowed is 70.
IGETC requirements
• AREA I – English Communication
– Group A – English Composition (1 course)
– Group B - Critical Thinking (1 course)
• AREA 2 - Mathematics (1 course)
• Math 170, 219, 105, 140, etc
• AREA 3 – Arts and Humanities (3 courses)
- Group A – Arts
- Group B - Humanities
IGETC requirements
• AREA 4 – Social & Behavioral Sciences (3 courses)
• AREA 5 – Physical & Biol. Sciences (2 courses)
1 course must have a corresponding lab.
- Group A – Physical Sciences
- Group B – Biological Sciences
• AREA 6 – Language Other that English
UC requirement: proficiency equivalent to two years of high
school study in the same language.
• You cannot have less than a “c” grade for IGETC
• You must file IGETC petition at SAC before the deadline
University Link Program
• Guaranteed Admission to UCI
• Program requirements:
- Join the U-link program at SAC
- English 101/math 081 placement
- Minimum 3.0 GPA to transfer
- Membership in a learning community
- 100 hours of community service
- Participation in all other U-link activities
UCLA – TAP PROGRAM
• Students receive priority consideration for
admission to UCLA. 85% admission rate
compared to 35% for non-honors students.
Admitted TAP students are eligible to apply for Transfer
Alliance Program scholarships.
• Requirements:
 Complete honors program (15 units)
 3.1 GPA
 IGETC and all major pre-requisites completed

• Check e-mail every week and respond promptly
to any requests
• Send application update in January for UC
• Mail official transcripts from all colleges and AP
scores before the deadline
• Apply for housing early April
• Submit intent to register on time!
