In my studies I learned about wind blade design and wind development procedures as well as regulatory law of wind, oil, and gas. Also, using tools like Microsoft Excel to create pro forma financial model and Microsoft Word to create reports for investors to get money for wind farm development were essential. Other tools like Quantum GIS were very handy for wind farm siting and wind farm development layout. In Regulatory Law class I did contract negotiations, as well as, legal document signing. Project management was a bulk of are studies in a lot of are courses and communication skills were stressed vigorously. In my modeling and design course I learned project management skills, as well as, wind development procedures for 150 MW wind farms. Financial knowledge was a big part of our studies since wind development is very expensive and has quite a bit of government subsidies. We were taught how to create pro forma financial models to find out project costs, as well as, run sensitivity analysis which we did in Excel. With that information we then did wind development reports for investors to get money for are wind farm. Aerodynamics was another aspect I learned about and used tools like prop code and WT_Perf for blade design.
