Affiliate/Board Information
 How many times from July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013 (academic year) has your affiliate
board met either in person or electronically? 11times
 Summary of major accomplishments of the affiliate from
July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013:
o Established a Marketing/Membership/Communications Sub-Committee
o Established a Professional Learning Sub-Committee
o Established a webpage presence
o Established a governing board rotation process
o Marketed LFND at the North Dakota Teachers’ Convention
o Marketed LFND at the North Dakota Council of Educational Leaders Summer
Conference
o Held first annual LFND State Conference in Mandan, ND with approximately
90 people registered (poor winter weather hampered full attendance)
 Support received from Learning Forward from July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013: (Include
participation in webinars, “free day” of service from Learning Forward, assistance from
staff via phone conferences, etc.)
o Acquired Jaqueline Kennedy and Chris Bryan as keynotes/presenters for the first
annual state conference in November, 2012.
o Webinars
o Fabulous (!) Email support from Dale Hair and Nikki Gamble
 Summary of key areas of focus for the affiliate for the next academic year (2013-14):
o Marketing and Communicating through Regional Education Associations
o Continued communication on the new LF PL Standards
o The President and President-Elect have requested a meeting with the State
Superintendent to move the PL Standards from “endorsed” to “adopted”. The
proposed meeting is scheduled for October 16, 2013.

Marketing at the North Dakota Teachers’ Association state convention.
Host second annual LFND State Conference in Bismarck, ND, on November
14-15
Establishing a network with Manitoba as they will be invited to our state
conference.
 What support do you want from Learning Forward to accomplish next year’s focus:
o All the information I received at the State Affiliates Conference was tremendous!
o Free day of service for keynote (John Eyolfson will be with us in Nov. 2013)
o Webinars when applicable

a member of the Learning Forward staff or Board of Trustees during the upcoming
