MAVIC® TRANS-PROVENCE 2013 ::: ENTRY REQUEST FORM Mavic® Trans-Provence is currently the most technically difficult point-to-point “stage” mountain bike race in the World. Along the entire length of the itinerary, the trails - most specifically, the timed singletrack descent “special stages” - contain rocky sections, rooty sections, steep sections, exposed sections, tight switchback sections... and indeed they can contain any concurrent combination of the above. Therefore, in order to race Mavic® Trans-Provence, you must not only be fit, but you MUST be capable of riding technically challenging (perhaps more often known as “gnarly”) trails with confidence. You must also (for your own enjoyment and safety!) bring a suitable bike, e.g. more “All-Mountain” than “Cross-Country”, e.g. headangle no steeper than 68°, forks with no less than 130mm travel, suitably sturdy tyres, etc. By filling out this entry form, you acknowledge the above statement, and you pledge not to lodge complaint if, after your entry is accepted and you attend the race, you then find the terrain more difficult than you expected/were prepared to ride. We apologise for having to communicate about this aspect of the event in such a blunt manner, but we are genuinely obliged to do so (as unfortunate as that may be). (If you would dearly like to ride the Mavic® Trans-Provence itinerary, but are in any doubt as to the above or think you might prefer to ride the trails without any race pressure, please consider attending one of our guided weeks where we ride the exact same route, but where riding ability is somewhat less critical. We generally run two differently paced groups of seven, per guided week: http://www.trans-provence.com/guideweek.shtml). Please complete sections (1) thru (4) of the form and then email your filled-out form to melissa@transprovence.com very soon after 00:00:00 Central European Time at the start of Saturday 01/12/2012 (December 1st 2012). This corresponds to 23:00GMT and 15:00PST on Friday November 30th 2012. Note that places will be given to 55 riders on a first-come-first-served basis (there are a total of 72 spots available, of which 17 have been allotted for pre-reservation by professional mountain biking teams). If in doubt, i.e. if you’re not sure whether or not you’re on time, please still email us your entry (even if it’s a few days later than the day that entries open)... we do get drop outs. Many thanks and we hope to meet you soon! (3) MEALS Do you have any special dietary requirements? YES NO If yes to the above, please be specific (e.g. if “vegetarian” please specify whether you eat poultry and fish) Riders’ daily arrival at camp is generally 16:30-17:30. However: we are logistically unable to provide dinner itself before 19:30. Do you acknowledge and accept the fact that our daily evening mealtime is 19:30, i.e. slightly later than at some other multi-day stage races? YES NO (4) PAYMENT & REFUND POLICY If your entry request for the 2013 Mavic® Trans-Provence race is accepted, we must receive your payment of €1395 by very latest Friday 18 January 2013 in order to secure your entry.
