Evaluation of testing:
When looking at my tasting table and product profile, I am very pleased with the results. As you can see, I scored all 5’s on how crisp
my bacon was, how appealing the dish was to my target audience, and how smooth the pasta was. I think I scored full marks on how
appealing the pasta was because of how crisp the bacon was, and how vibrant the colours of the ingredients used for the topping
were. Another reason I could have scored highly on how appealing the pasta was because of the different textures I included within
the dish. The bacon would have been crispy which would have given a nice contrast against the creamy, smooth pasta. Then the
mixed peppers still had a little crunch but were mainly soft which would therefore introduce another texture to the dish thus appealing
to my target audience. I am pleased with the fact the vegetables still contained a little crunch which is why I am happy scoring 2 3’s
and a 4 when I asked the testers how soft the vegetables are. When looking at my testing table and product profile, I am pleased with
scoring all 4’s on how creamy the pasta was, because I wanted the pasta to mix well with the topping and not be too dry when eating
it, however I didn’t want it to be too creamy as it would then overpower all of the other flavours and would therefore not be as
enjoyable.
Modifications:
To modify my Creamy Bacon Pasta with Roasted Vegetables, I could add in a little spice that would compliment the other flavours
and give the dish a bit of a kick. For example, I could add fresh chillis or chilli flakes which would also add more colour to the dish
adding to how appealing and vibrant the dish looks. I could also change the shape of the pasta I made from tagliatelle to individual
pasta shapes. This could change the look of the dish and could add a slightly different texture to the dish. To add another flavour into
the dish, I could always add a subtle bit of garlic to help enhance the flavours that are already within the dish. To make the dish a
vegetarian dish, I could always remove the bacon and add another vegetable in its place. Another idea would be to use quorn instead
of the bacon, to still give protein to the dish which will make the meal more balanced. I could also make individual portions that could
be taken away from the café to eat or eat within the café.
