Procedure
Teachers will introduce
themselves and ask students their
names. Then, teachers split
students into teams by having
them draw one of two sea
creatures from the bucket.
Teachers will TPR + call and
repeat each rule briefly.
Each round there is a shark and a
group of sea creatures. The shark
faces the wall, unable to see the
sea creatures who try to run by to
get to the other side. Before each
round, every player becomes a
sea creature and does the sea
creature’s TPR. During each
round, the students will
constantly repeat the name of the
sea creature as they run by. If a
shark catches a creature, the
student is out for one round and
the teachers explain that “The
Shark eats a (starfish).”
Optionally, students may become
the shark. MODEL GAME

each team runs to the object,
picks it up and says its name.
To start, each teacher puts on a

split up and line up at either

SESSION 3
Procedure
Students line up in two lines. One
student from each line sits in a
boat, which is surrounded by sea
creatures and objects. Two
teachers stand in the middle. Each
teacher says to their line, “I need a
____.” The first student in line
runs to the boat. The student in the
boat finds the object and gives it
to this student. This student runs
the object to the teacher saying “ I
have a ____.” The first student to
finish wins a point for their team.
Then, rotation:
-Student in boat goes to the back
of their team’s line
-Student who ran the object takes
the teachers play and performs the
“ I need a ____” role for their
team”
-Teacher or student who just
played the “I need a ____” role
goes into the boat.
The game continues in this
fashion until it ends. To make it
more challenging, teachers can
require students to retrieve the
objects both teams ask for.
