New Vocabulary: the park, the library, an art gallery, a museum, a night club, the mall, a restaurant the beach. Material needed: Flash cards, activity sheets, some paper and coloring pens. Target Structure: Where are you going to go this weekend? I’m going to go to a nightclub. Who are you going to go with? I’m going to go with Mark. Where is she going to go tonight? She’s going to go to the park. Who is she going to go with? She’s going to go with Ming. Warm up: 5min Use the flashcards to elicit and check your student’s understands of the vocabulary and target structures. Study Part: 20min After you’ve gone over the vocabulary and target structures, hand out the worksheets. Write all the new words and phrases on the board and have your students copy them down on page one. (They should write the new words below each image, and the new phrases in the notes section at the bottom.) Pair Work: 10min (Give Sheet A to one student, and Sheet B to the other.) Have your students work in pairs to complete the information gap. They’ll need to ask each other where Heather and Scot are going to go next week and who they are going to go with. Where are you going to go? Follow Up: 5min When they are finished the pair work, have your students try the follow up activity to review their writing skills for this structure. Group Work (Find someone who…) 10min Students walk around the class looking for people who are going to do the things from the list. When they find someone they should write their name in the blank space and then ask who they are going to go with. You should review the word ‘Alone’ before beginning. Review and Fun: 5min Have one page to use for classroom review or as a homework activity. These review sheets consist of puzzles, games, word searches, scrambles, and other fun activities.
