Columbia FiberArts Guild 2015 Exhibition Prospectus December 1, 2014 Exhibit Chair: Lynn Deal ideallyspeaking@yahoo.com 971-303-0808 Columbia FiberArts Guild 2015 Exhibition Prospectus Columbia FiberArts Guild (CFG) is being honored as a “Feature Guild” at NW Quilt Expo 2015 (Quilt Expo). This opportunity showcases our guild’s ability to promote high quality fiber art by stimulating a regional audience already interested in the creative processes of fiber. The theme of our exhibit is “A River Runs Through It” and supports the overall Quilt Expo theme, Living in the Pacific Northwest. How do CFG members perceive the river or rivers that run through our lives here in the Pacific Northwest? Will you choose to incorporate aspects of personal life in your entry? Entries may be realistic or abstract, just so long as each work of art establishes a visual point of reference to CFG’s “River” theme. This exhibition is similar to, but different from, exhibits produced by High Fiber Diet, Wearables, or Surface Design, in that this exhibit is for our entire CFG membership. We are approximately 160 members and have access to approximately 50 draped spaces for 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional works of art. We invite every guild member to exhibit up to four (4) pieces. Our show provides a three-fold opportunity: 1) Showcases high quality fiber art of both personal and professional CFG members, 2) Utilizes CFG’s 501 (c) 3 mission to educate in the artistic medium of fiber, 3) Encourages individual exploration and creative variety while promoting a singular theme. We understand that questions and/or comments arise as entries are being prepared. The Exhibit Chair is available via the contact information provided in this header. An Exhibit Committee is forming as of this posting. Duties assisting the Exhibit Chair include but are not limited to developing the entry form and related submission templates and receipt and return of CFG exhibition art. If you would like to be on the 2015 CFG Exhibit Committee, please contact the Exhibit Chair as soon as possible. Venue: Northwest Quilting Expo 2015, Portland Exposition Center, 2060 N.
