ISP – Purpose:
reduce the risk of personal injury, environmental contamination, and property
damage
To nurture and train world-class socially aware, globally connected, diverse
engineers, educators, and researchers with rigorous core knowledge and
problem-solving skills, who understand complex, interacting engineering and
societal systems. To develop innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing
challenges through transformational interdisciplinary research.

ISP – Responsibilities & Expectations:
Every employee:
- Be familiar with all safety, security and emergency policies, programs and procedures
- Ask questions of and report concerns to their assigned Safety Representatives
- Integrate safe work practices into daily tasks
- Stop any observed unsafe actions and request that a safety assessment be performed
- Halt any unsafe acts when questioned by another employee
Retaliation for reporting unsafe acts will not be tolerated.

The CoE Safety Standard
Regulations (compliance) shall not be seen
as hindrance or obstacle, but rather as the
minimum societal agreed-upon standards
upon which a more comprehensive and
integrated safety culture shall be
established.
Process for handling safety-related concerns:
- Supervisor (PI), with assistance from Dept. Safety Rep.,
has 30 days to address & report the concern as resolved;
- If unresolved, referred to Dept. Head who has 30 days to
address the issue;
- If unresolved, issue is referred to Dean’s Office

• Each Department has Access Coordinator(s) for key & card
access
• Access Coordinators are meeting every other month to
discuss implementation & documentation requirements
• Meeting with Police Services to address concerns & suggest
policy changes
