 Before the new food pyramid came out, there used to
be only 4 food groups. Now it is six.

rice, oats, cornmeal, barley or any other
cereal grain
Divided into two subgroups:

Milled- a process that removes the
bran and germ
Examples:

Germed cornmeal

and tissue and help cardiovascular health.

allow absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins A,D,E and K, provide
needed fatty acids and cholesterol for cell membranes.
