Mission Statement

St. Vincent de Paul Camp is a project of
the St. Vincent de Paul Society, that
puts the society’s philosophy into action
to help the youth of Western New York
experience and explore
their talents,
interests and values
in a safe, Christian
environment.

The St. Vincent de Paul Children’s
Summer Camp has been in operation
since 1925.
General Camp
Information
The camp is a coeducational sleep-away
camp for youth ages 8 to 13.
 The camp is operated by the Society of
St. Vincent de Paul.
 It is licensed and inspected by the Erie
County Health Department.

Location

The camp is located on the shores of
Lake Erie.
 Approximately 22 miles
southwest of Buffalo.
The camp occupies 15
acres of mixed woods
and 1,200 feet of beach.

Activities


Campers will have the opportunity to attend 1 hour long craft
sessions with their specific cabin.
“Free craft time” gives the campers the chance to choose the
activity that they would like to participate in.
– Also during free craft time, other areas of the camp are opened. Some of
the extras involve additional instruction in sports, beach/nature hikes and
handicrafts.

Evenings are devoted to special camp programs.
– Which can involve the entire camp or individual cabins.

The last night of the session is
reserved for our awards campfire
at which cabins and individual
campers are recognized for their
efforts in the camp competitions
or for individual accomplishment.

Transportation

Camp Bus- The camp provides round trip
transportation from our Main Street office for
each session.
– The bus will leave from the parking lot on Sunday
afternoon at 2:30 pm sharp and will return to the
same location on Saturday at approximately noon.

Private Car- When bus transportation is not
practical, campers may be brought to camp
by their family. You should arrive at camp
between 2:30 and 3:00 pm Sunday. Pickup
on Saturday should be between 9:30 and
10:00 am.

Camp Fees
The fee for the St. Vincent de Paul
Camp is $175 per week.
 A $25 nonrefundable registration fee,
which will be credited to the camp
tuition, must accompany the
application.

Staff



The St. Vincent de Paul Camp is under the direction of the St.
Vincent de Paul Society.
Our staff is well trained and ready to assist at anytime.
– The staff includes: Director of the Camp, Assistant Director,
Program Director, Arts and Crafts leader, Head Lifeguard,
Additional Lifeguards, Camp Medical Director, Dining Facility
Manager, Head Cook, Night Watchman and a Secretary.
We also have cabin counselors. Many of our counselors are
college students 18 and older. They show a commitment to the
camp, its philosophies and ideals.
– Counselors are interviewed by the Director and a minimum
of three references are required. Counselors must possess
an appropriate level of maturity and ability to work with
campers.
– Many of our counselors are former campers who have taken
their “camp spirit” to another level.
– A mandatory training session is required for all of our staff.
