school located in Point Pleasant ,
West Virginia established in
1890. Committed to excellence,
PPJSHS promotes respectful,
responsible citizens dedicated to
life-long learning.
Academic Program
Twenty four credits are required
for the Class of 2016.
Advanced Placement
AP courses are offered in Point
Pleasant Jr. Sr. High School,
based on student request. We are
constantly striving to increase the
rigor of our school, and are
pleased to show how we have
increased our AP courses from
four courses offered in 2011 to
currently having 12 AP courses
(in-house) in our curriculum for
the 2015-16 school year.
Accreditation
PPJSHS was opened in 1890 and
is chartered by the West Virginia
Department of Education.
Classes operate on either a block
schedule of 105 minutes per day
for a semester, or a year-long
schedule of 50 minutes per day
for two semesters.
Placement
In all academic areas the
students are placed by
WESTEST scores and teacher
recommendation into Honors,
AP, and General classes.
