Classification
• It’s scientific name is Pagurus Bernhardus. It
doesn’t have a group name or anything like that.
Appearance
• Later on in the Hermit
crabs life, it needs a
new shell to fit its size.
Hermit crabs don’t
have symmetry
because its shell could
be different shapes
and sizes.
• Hermit crabs can be
all different colors.
Movement
• It moves by using its legs to pull itself and its
shell. This crustacean is definitely slow moving.
For eating, they get their own food. Or people
feed them.
Diet
• They mostly have fruits and vegetables. They get
their food by finding it or being fed. It is down at
the bottom of the food chain because it is very
small and not very vicious.
Habitat and range
• It lives on the beach right next to the ocean. It
lives wherever there is water. It likes to live in
the sand and by the water.
Life Cycle
• Hermit crabs lay 800-1200 eggs at one time.
Also, they definitely do not reproduce asexually.
Behavior
• Hermit Crabs love to climb on things. They are
also used to being by water. They also like to go
in their shell a lot.
• They are usually in large groups. Most of the
time, hundreds.
• Hermit crabs like to be active at night. They
sometimes eat at night too.
Defense/Offense
• Hermit Crabs use its shell to defend itself. It just
goes inside it.
• To attack predators it uses its pincers. Large
hermit crabs can snap a pencil in half.
• What could kill it: PRETTY MUCH
EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!
