Inorganic chemistry is the study of all noncarbon compounds
Biochemistry is the study of processes that
take place inside of living organisms
Analytical chemistry is the study of the
composition of matter
Physical chemistry is the study of the
mechanism, the rate and the energy transfer
in matter changes

Pure chemistry is when scientists focus on
researching the fundamental aspects of
chemistry


Applied chemistry is when scientists focus on
researching towards a practical goal or
application


In other words, it is the pursuit of chemical
knowledge
In other words, they seek to answer a specific
question or a solve a meaningful problem
Often the two are linked when pure research
leads directly to an application

