The Professional Rules and Regulation Committee recently
prepared submissions in response to
 the SRA’s consultation on decision making criteria (read
paper); and
 the SRA’s Consultation Paper on the “Use of enhanced
investigatory powers” (read paper)
The Committee also provided a supplementary response to the
SRA’s consultation on work type codes (read paper).
A joint working party of The Law Society Company Law
Committee and The City of London Law Society Company Law
and Financial Law Committees recently prepared guidance on
the execution of documents at a virtual signing or closing (read
guidance.)
The Litigation Committee recently responded to the Ministry of
Justice’s consultation paper 04/2009 on controlling costs in
defamation proceedings (read paper for the response).
The Regulatory Law Committee recently responded to the
FSA’s Discussion Paper 09/1 ”Temporary short selling
measures” (read paper).
In addition, the Law Commission recently produced a summary
of the responses it received to the consultation paper regarding
consumer remedies for faulty goods
