Inevitably some artists will lose/leave the tumblers in their car. If this happens, have them see Mellodie or Jane. 8. When you need extra ice, ask Mellodie to radio Tommy, the ice man. 9. Your smile, friendliness and willingness to help are what have given Art in the Park such a great reputation. In advance of your shift, please familiarize yourself with the festival information page on the Art in the Park website since one of your jobs will be to answer guests’ questions. Make sure too that you have had a quick look over the Columbia Art League website to familiarize yourself with the organization. Any lost and found items should be taken to the Main Information Booth. If something valuable such as a wallet or mobile phone is handed in, make sure you inform Mellodie or Jane. We will have a Lost and Found box for items such as sunglasses, children’s toys, etc. Bring any “found” children to the Main Information Booth. (Children are never lost; it’s their parents who are lost!) Look around the area first to see if there’s any sign of a parent. If not, staff at the Main Information Booth will look after the child until the parent can be located. If a situation arises where someone needs medical or emergency assistance, inform your area manager or someone in the Main Information Booth immediately. They will be in radio contact with the festival director and trained CERT staff who will be on hand at the event all weekend. Make sure you note the place of the incident and the nature of the incident so they can deal with it as quickly as possible. In the case of severe weather warning, a bullhorn announcement will advise people to leave the park immediately. If there is a sudden lightning storm, DO NOT shelter under a tree or in a tent.
