OBJECTIVE:

ACHIEVEMENTS DURING HOTEL SERVICE :
a. Recently found out a permanent solution to the frequently failing of Hot and
Cold water plumbing lines at the Towers Rotana Hotel in Dubai which
would paralyse the hotel operation. At a cost of AED 225,000 which is an
equivalent of GBP 33,645 against a quoted price / proposal from a blue chip
company in Dubai amounting to AED 3 million which is equivalent of GBP
448598 thus saving a total of GBP 41,4953 for my employer / owners.
b
Built up a redundant Air Handling Unit with complete Ducting for the
Laundry in-house at a cost of GBP 450 only against the total cost of GBP
11215 had it been commissioned by an outside contractor on a turn key
basis project thus saved GBP 10765(A.E.D 72000)for my employers it may
be highlighted that Laundry temperature is quite comfortable as compared
hot and uncomfortable environment for the staff and the machines..
c. Reduced Electricity Cost by 10% through prudent energy Conservation
Management Regime undertaken at Pearl Continental Hotel Rawalpindi (*35
years old property).
d. Reduced Natural gas Cost (used for boiler operation) by 10% by replacing
22 in numbers defective steam traps by new ones at Pearl Continental Hotel
Rawalpindi in Pakistan.
e. Saved 78,000.00 Saudi Riyals (£15,000.00) per annum for successfully
negotiating landscape and irrigation and pest control maintenance Contract
at Anakheel Village Resort Hotel Jeddah. With scope of work considerably
enlarged without having to compromise on quality.
f. Single handily negotiated co-generation project with the Technical
Assistance from ALSTOM Power (UK) encompassing Electric Power
Generation, Potable Water and the Air Conditioning at Anakheel Village
Resort Hotel Jeddah. A detailed Technical presentation of the Project was
given by the Managers of ALSTOM Power, U.K. to the Board of Directors at
the Head Office of Saudi Hotel and Resort Area Company, Riyadh (The
Owners and Operators of five resort hotels including the Annakheel Village
Resort Hotel in Jeddah).
* Pearl Continental Hotel Rawalpindi (formerly Intercontinental Hotel) was built in
1967 and despite the ageing factor the building is in an immaculate condition.

Areas Company, a joint stock Company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is a
five star hotel consisting of 43 rooms and 119 fully furnished luxurious 3 bedroomed Villas which makes it a 400 room property, a Health Club and water sport
facilities such as jet ski rides, Motor boats, Small sized Ships for Red Sea
Cruises.

As a Chief Engineer dealt with the following machineries.
CHILLERS: District cooling system, York (USA) reciprocating Air cooled Chillers
with dual compressor (250 ton x 4), Trane (USA), Dual-compressor, Helical-rotary
type Air cooled Chiller (110 tons x 6), Copland (USA) (40 tons x 6) + (40tons x 2),
Mitsubishi (Japan) director fired Absorption Chiller (350 tons), Chilled Water
Pumps, Cooling Towers, Water Cool, Wood filled (Marley, USA), Fiber Glass,
Bottle shaped (Japan).
Sewage treatment plant, Water Purification Plant (De-Salination plant 400 meter
cube per day), Ice-cube machines, Air Handling units, Diesel Generators, Boilers,
Water Softeners, Elevators, Walk-in-freezers, Audiovisual equipments, Fire
Fighting Equipments, Swimming pools, Whirl pools, Jacuzzi etc.
Prior to moving into hotels, my career developed within the Shipping Industry.
REFURBISHMENT PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN:
Undertook and supervised the following refurbishment projects.
a)
At the Pearl Continental Hotel, Rawalpindi, (formerly Inter Continental
Hotel) for their guest rooms.,
b)
Hyatt Regency Hotel and Towers, Makkah: Residential apartments
which is part of the Hotel building.
SHIPPING:
Eighteen years at sea as a Marine Engineer hands-on experience of the Ship
operation, maintenance and trouble shooting covering the following areas which
is similar to the Hotel Operations. Diesel Generators, Desalination Plants, Steam
driven Generators, Pumps, Air compressors Centrifuges, low pressure and High
pressure Boilers up to 60 bar Steam pressure, Sewage Disposal Plant, Airconditioning and Refrigeration plants, Walk-in -Freezers/Cold Rooms, Fire
Fighting Management and personnel evacuation.
