Tourism is one of the largest industries in the world and all tourism is concerned with either the natural or the built environment. As tourism expands we build more and more concrete hotels along the pristine coasts of the developing world. This development ignores natural restrictions, we disrupt wetlands, we dump our wastes untreated into the water in which guests will swim, and tourists invade coral reefs causing rapid decay. If the tourism industry is going to continue to develop we need to consider both ethical and practical factors, and learn to respect nature rather than abuse it. Graduates of Tourism and Environment will be prepared to contribute to one of the world’s fastest growing and important industries. Tourism and Environment Courses Student will study courses such as Sustainability, Environment and Tourism, Tourist Behaviour, Nature-Based Tourism, Economics of the Environment, as well as Functional Management for Sustainable Tourism.
