NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION PROJECT Petronio, Karen, Dively, Valerie, and Collins, Steven. This approved five-year National Science Foundation project examines the linguistic properties and variation that occurs in Tactile American Sign Language, a variety of American Sign Language. The project also included a creation of a new database of TASL in at least three sites in the U.S. Petronio was the Eastern Kentucky University principle investigator of the entire project. Collins was the Gallaudet University principle investigator during the project's Year 1 (May 2000-July 2001). Dively was the Gallaudet University principle investigator during the project's Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 (August 2001-May 2005).
