 Falcon Fun Run-Thanks to all our kids for participating!! Thanks to all the families and friends
for supporting them. Thanks to our teachers for rearranging their schedules for this event.

Thanks to the families that came out to cheer on the kids. Thanks to Marie Schmidt, Victoria
Schmidt, Emma Oros, Ashlee Kovell (and girls!), Paula Delon and Tina Romantine for coming out
to help on run day! We made a profit of $5,166 to date! Some of the donations are still
coming in and will be applied to your Fair Share up until school year end. You are receiving a
statement today on your Fun Run donations received as of the 27th.
The overall class winner was 1st grade – they win a party of their choice – either pizza or ice
cream – congratulations to Mrs. Coley and the first grade for raising $1425!!

 Fairshare Updates -8th grade families are receiving their final Fair Share statements in today’s
folders. Thank you for your years of support.
All other families will be receiving their final year end statement next week. Any questions or

 Market Day - This is our last sale until we start back up in the fall. Paper orders are due
tomorrow, online orders are due on Monday, June 1st and pickup day is Monday June 8th.

SCHOOL NEWS
 English Festival Grades 4-6 -Congratulations to all the following students for participating in the
English Festival this year: Katie Durkos, Domenique Bourne, Taylor Roberts, Madi Pascia,
Gianna Catanzarite, Joey Durkos, Dante Rivetti, Vincent Catanzarite, Michael Hvizdak, Nick
Kristian, Charlotte Huber, Isabella Chimile, Caitlyn Eiler, Della Stokes, Roman Rhodes, Thaddeus
Gonzales, Spenser Croce, and Matthew Dewhirst. We are very proud that two of our teams
placed first in their group competitions this year! Congratulations to: Ronin Scott, Jericho
Schmidt, Anthony LaSala, Noah Oros, and Sam Kirby. Also Dominic Flitcraft, Luke Waszyn, Sarah
Zeiber, Isabella Fiscus, and Bella Buonaiuto.
 English Festival Grades 7&8 - The 7th and 8th grade participated in the WPCTE English Festival
at Duquesne University on May 14, 2015 Participating 8th Graders were Dani Short, Sophia
Sunseri, Jenna Sirianni, Abigayle Hvizdak,Sierra DAngelo, Anthony Cairns, Kevin Jones, Travis
Sivertsen. Madelynn Farkas, Simon Herstine, and Kennede Northcutt. Participating 7th Graders
were Esabella Brilmyer, Molly Kirby, Brendan Polidora, Adilia Schmidt, Derek Scott, and Rachel
Yadav.
 Spelling Bee Grades 4-6 - Congratulations to the following students for winning their individual
class spelling bees: Gr. 4 Gia Ierullo, Dominic Flitcraft, Madi Pascia, Gianna Catanzarite; Gr. 5
Dante Rivetti, Malayna DeAngelo, Noah Oros, Vincent Catanzarite; Gr. 6 Sean Gould, Lauren
Boggs, Della Stokes, Michael Buonaiuto. Congratulations to Dante Rivetti, who represented Our
Lady of Fatima at the Diocesan Spelling Bee!
 Congratulations Alumni! – The following students received awards at the Our Lady of the
Sacred Heart High School assembly: Autumn Cejer – Top Ten in Class of 2015, President’s Award
for Academic Excellence, and Journalism Award; Emily Palombo – Susan P. Fahey Memorial
Scholarship; Mary Kohser – Religion III Award; Kristian Biega – Honors Pre-Calculus Award.
 Band Students – I had the pleasure of hearing a beautiful concert last evening with Our Lady of
Fatima and St. James students. Thank you all for your time and dedication to this program. Our
students are Della Stokes, Thaddeus Gonzalez, Ella Capelli, Joe Scott, and Spenser Croce.
 Campbell Soup Labels and Box Tops – Thank you for sending in these labels! If you have any on
hand, please send them in before the end of the year. Please continue to save them over the
summer!
 Protecting God’s Children Class – There is a class TONIGHT at St. James in Sewickley if anyone
is interested. The evening session is 6 – 9 pm. You may call Sue Pontello at 412-741-6650 if you
are interested.
 Dress Down Week – We have several charities that have asked us for help so all of next week
the students will be permitted to dress down for a donation of $3.00 total. We will be going to
mass on Friday, June 5th, so I ask that you do dress appropriately for mass even though you don’t
have to be in Event Wear.
 Kindergarten Moving on Day – Tomorrow is the last day for our Kindergarten class of 2015!!!
Congratulations to all of our students and good luck in First Grade!!! Have a wonderful summer!
 Eighth Grade Graduation – Our class of 2015 will graduate on Sunday, May 31st, at the 8:00 am
Mass. They will then be honored at a brunch in Kohler Hall when awards will also be presented.
Our students will be attending Quigley Catholic, Oakland Catholic, Cardinal Wuerl North
Catholic, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Hopewell, Moon, and Central Valley School Districts.
Congratulations and good luck to all of our students!
 Chimbote Mission Day – Tuesday, June 2nd, is our mission carnival day. Each grade creates a
booth or game for the other students to play. Each event is $.25, and all money goes toward the
Chimbote Missions in Peru. The Diocese of Pittsburgh has a connection to this mission, and
each school is asked to do its part. So, if your means allow, please have your child bring in some
quarters to play the games. However, no child will be excluded from participating.
 Awards’ Assembly – Students in grades 1 – 7 will attend our annual awards’ assembly on
Wednesday, June 3rd, at 9:00 am, in Kohler Hall. Parents are welcome.
 Last Day of School – Friday, June 5th, will be the last day of school. Dismissal is at 10:30 am.
Report cards and Terra Nova scores will be given to the students that day.
 Holy Mass – Students in grades 2 & 3 will be attending the 9:00 am mass tomorrow. Please
wear Event Wear tomorrow.

COURTESY ANNOUNCEMENT
Baby Sitting Available – Nathan Yanko’s, a 2nd grade mother, is offering babysitting service in her home
in the Plan 12 area of Aliquippa during the summer months for Fatima parents who work. Mrs. Amy Xu
Yanko will watch and care for Fatima children, provide limited lunch meals, and can also teach some
spoken Chinese language to them for parents who are interested. Please call Mark or Amy Yanko at
724-203-4579 if interested in discussing or learning more.
