for BIO 270 and 290 at JMU.

NOTES
1. Students interested in the exercise science concentration must apply for a limited number of seats. To
apply for admission, students must complete the following pre-requisite courses:
 BIO 270, Human Physiology
 BIO 290, Human Anatomy
 CHEM 131, 131L, General Chemistry I with lab
 KIN 202, Biological Foundations of Kinesiology
 GKIN 100, Lifetime Fitness and Wellness
Grades in the pre-requisite courses are weighed heavily in the admission decision, and admission is
offered to the top students on a space available basis. Courses taken on a repeat/forgive basis will not
be accepted. Only those grades received in pre-requisite courses taken for the first time, whether at
community college or JMU, will be counted.
2. PHY 202 is not required for the major but can be helpful, especially if also completing a pre-professional
health program. Pre-Physical therapy and pre=medicine require both semesters. Pre-occupational
therapy and pre-physical assistant do not.
