LEVELS OF BIOLOGICAL ORGANIZATION POSTER REQUIREMENTS
o Counts as a project grade for the FIRST MP DUE: Tuesday NOVEMBER 10
o +3 points if you turn THIS paper AND the rubric in with the project.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: (check the boxes as you complete them!)
 Neatness and organization count – if you do not have neat handwriting, use a
computer. You should use a ruler and GLUE behind the pictures. No tape showing.
 Must be colored. Should be creative and detailed.
 Include name and period on the BACK of the poster
 Label each section with the appropriate title – “Organism”, “Population”,
“Community”, “Ecosystem,” and “Biosphere.”
 Project should have a title: “Biological Organization of a _______________”
 Use varied pictures throughout each level. (The same picture of the organism
should NOT be repeated in each level.)
 MUST include hand drawn backgrounds in community and ecosystem.
 There should be NO background for organism, population, and biosphere
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS (for each level of biological organization):
**YOU MUST INLCUDE: a brief description of what each level contains
(2-3 sentences Per level**
 Organism– include ONE picture of your organism. (Large enough to see detail and fill
most of that section).
 Population – include SEVERAL pictures of your organism. These are picture of
organisms that can reproduce together; part of the SAME species.
 Community – at least 5 different pictures of different populations living in your
organism’s environment. The pictures should be varied. There should be NO
nonliving factors in this section (sky, sun, rocks). Include enough to fill entire section
of your poster.
 Ecosystem – 5 different pictures of all the living, or once lived (biotic) and 5 nonliving
(abiotic) features of your organism’s environment. Fill the entire section of poster.
 Biosphere – a picture of the earth (Large enough to fill section).

RECOMMENDATIONS:
 Use a ruler and GLUE. If you choose to use tape, I do NOT want to see it! It should be
rolled behind the picture.
 Layout the poster board BEFORE you glue anything to see if you have enough room.
 Pace yourself. Assign times each night. DON’T procrastinate!!
