Decomposers, Oh My!
The Purpose
• Scientists around the world disagree on
the common needs of the living
organisms. The “World Earth
Organization” has decided to create an
investigation where they will interview
organisms in different ecosystems about
their basic needs and how they meet
these needs in their environment. You will
be an organism being interviewed.
The Task
1. You will be grouped into an ecosystem.
2. You will choose which type of living organism
you are going to be and find out how you get
your energy.
3. You team will create a poster or another
product classifying their organism into:
(1)Producer-gets their energy from the sun
(2) Consumer-gets their energy from other living
things
(3) Decomposer-feed on dead organisms and
wastes .
