Implmentation of Network Infrastructure for a Prestigeous Financial Institituion
Currently working on a large infrastructure projects as Project Manager. The hierarchical
design is built around redundant high peformance Core Catalyst 6500 Layer 3 swiches.
The rest of the network has been divided into functiona units which then connect to the
core.These functional units are the Data Centre, Campus Users, POP and Disaster
Recovery Centre. There are 88 nos Cisco Catalyst 4503 as Access Layer Switches and
11nos 6500 series as Distribution and Core Switches.
Project includes, installation and configuration of AS5300, Cisco 7204 VXR ,VPN 3005
network and security components. Also inculdes, NAM and FWSM modules and
softwares like, Network Registrar, Cisco Works 2000 LMS 2.5 and Access Control
Solution Engine. Network Infrastrucutre is capable of running Alcatel IP Telephony
Servies. Power on Ethernet (PoE) modules will be installed on Catalyst 4503 to provide
power for Alcatel IP Phone. Quality of Service will be implemented for voice and critical
traffic priotitization and bandwidth management.

Leased Line Circuit to ISP. To this router A Cisco Cache Engine 550 is connected and
this will help SQU for better bandwidth management. WEB Server is connected to the
same segment to connect outside customers to log in to SQU site. Coming down after the
router a CISCO PIX 520 Firewall with 4 Ethernet interfaces installed. This PIX Firewall
protects the users within SQU to log in to only the approved sites and blocks all other
sites. Secondly the users from outside world, cannot get into the SQU network. However
faculty can have the dial up access and browse after authentication. This is achieved with
an Access Server 5300 with 60 MICA modem and QUAD E1/PRI card has been
integrated with Lucent Technologies Definity PABX system with E1/PRI ISDN interface
for remote dialup clients. All dialup clients will be get authenticated with CISCO Secure
for Windows NT Software.
