Assignments:
Your Task…You will choose a name for your marketing company OR use an existing company (for
example, PETA or American World Adoption) and give a presentation on your topic to try to persuade
your audience to side with you. Though there are several ways to approach the presentation, your goal is
to persuade your audience to side with your cause (for example: FOR harsher seatbelt laws). Your
finished products will include: an annotated bibliography from your research, a speech outline with
Works Cited page, a PowerPoint to use during your presentation, and business card.
1) – Choose a TOPIC from the topic list and have your topic approved by Mrs. Campbell. Only one group per
topic per class.
2) – Begin researching on your topic, take notes, and formulate a plan. Mrs. Campbell will be meeting with you
to discuss your topics and if you are on the right track.
3) – Type your ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY (using Microsoft Word) and print to submit. DUE: Fri.
11/8/13 beginning of class! {QUIZ GRADE}
4) – Type your OUTLINE & WORKS CITED PAGE (using Microsoft Word) and print to submit. DUE: Fri.
11/15/13 beginning of class! {TEST GRADE}
5) – Make your POWERPOINT presentation and save on USB/flash drive. DUE: Wed. 11/20 beginning of
class!
6) – Make a BUSINESS CARD for your company and print copies so each person in class has one as well as
Mrs. Campbell & Ms. Dodson (20 total including your group members). DUE: Wed. 11/20 beginning of class!
7) – PRACTICE your presentation. You may type out a speech, use your outline, or use note cards. I highly
suggest using note cards which will help with eye contact and presentation skills.
8) – Give your PRESENTATION (in class on your assigned date). PRESENT: Thurs. 11/21 or Fri. 11/22
(*day you are to present _______________). {Commercial, Presentation, & Business Card: TEST
