Pathway.
CABINET MAKING I - This year-long class is designed to provide the student an opportunity to develop
skills and acquire more knowledge in woodworking. The first phase of the class is spent researching
fundamentals such as: suitable product design, interpreting a drawing, reviewing measurement practices,
designing their first project, calculating the cost of the project and reviewing safety procedures. This project is
then completed in the shop lab. The next phase includes demonstrations of common woodworking processes,
followed by performance testing over these procedures. Prereq-Intro. to Tech/Intro. to Drafting Grades 10-12

woodworking skills by working on individual projects. Students will study more advanced methods of
production and finishing techniques. Prereq.- Cabinetmaking I Grades 11-12.
MECHANICAL / CAD DRAFTING I This is the first full course in a series of drafting classes. As such, it is
essential for emphasis to be placed on learning basic correct procedures, technique. Much time will also be
spent learning to draw with a CAD system. Prereq.-Intro to Tech/Production Blueprint Reading Grades 10-12
MECHANICAL / CAD DRAFTING II -The student will receive instruction is such areas as geometrics,
sections, auxiliaries, screw thread representation and the working drawing. Instruction is also given on
computer aided drafting, with emphasis on recent AutoCAD releases. Prereq.- Mech. Drafting I Grades 11-12
