Launches AIIP 2010 Technology Award
Award Description and Instructions for Nominators
The Association of Independent Information Professionals (AIIP) is pleased to announce a
call for nominations for the eleventh annual AIIP Technology Award, created to recognize
innovative products that enhance the working environment of the independent information
professional.
AIIP invites any company or individual that produces information products (databases, web
organizers, Internet sites) for web based services or for desktop software, to enter the
competition.
Successful entries will be new products or technologies that help information professionals
with their day-to-day operations in locating, analyzing, organizing, and delivering information.
The product must be related to the information field; AIIP does not consider accounting,
word-processing, spreadsheet, or other programs not directly related to locating, analyzing,
or organizing data appropriate for this award. The deadline for nominations is September 13,
2010.
The AIIP Technology Awards Committee will judge each entry on the basis of usability,
speed, and content if relevant. Panel members will review the nominations and submitted
materials, directly evaluate the product if possible, and otherwise interview users.

2009 Attain Inc., AttainCI, as a state-of-the art competitive and market intelligence tool that

Information through a full-featured, well thought-out, and easy-to-use web-based
system
2008 10-K Wizard, for its Regulatory Database product, with honorable mention to PBWiki
for their online wiki application and to Tableau Software’s Desktop Tableau for their
visualization software
2007 XLineSoft ASPRunner Professional, with honorable mention for IBM Visual
Communication Lab’s Many Eyes
2006 No award was given out in 2006
2005 Copernic Desktop, with honorable mention for Devon Technologies DEVONagent and
Wolff Worldwide
2004 Net Snippets Professional Edition, with honorable mentions for Dialog Corporation’s

The AIIP Technology Award will be presented to the winner at the Internet Librarian
Conference (http://www.infotoday.com/il2010/) on Tuesday, October 26, at 8.45 a.m. in
Monterey, California. Companies winning the award must commit beforehand to having a
representative on hand to receive the award or else an alternative product and company will
