These include, but not limited to; Technology coordinator at a school or district level Instructional materials developer Online instructor Online course developer Corporate training Students do not have to have extensive technology experience prior to entering the ETEC program, however successful students bring with them to the program a love of learning technology and an ability to explore new technologies independently as well as in the classroom setting. The ETEC program is hands-on and student centered. Scholars who enter this program may choose to focus on research or in development through course selection and thesis/project options. Students who are considering a career in higher education are encouraged to consider this program, especially the research thesis option. The ETEC program is challenging and at the same time, achievable. It is possible for students to complete the ETEC program in as little as six quarters (1½ years), although that is not a requirement. ADMISSION TO THE PROGRAM 1. You must apply to the university as a graduate student. 2. You must also apply to the College of Education. Once you have been admitted to the university as a graduate student, you must complete the following requirements in order to obtain classified graduate standing: 3. Satisfactorily completed ETEC 500,543,544, and EDUC607. 4. Filed an approved graduate program for completion of the degree. This must be prepared in consultation with an adviser in the instructional technology program and approved by the graduate program coordinator for instructional technology. A cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 (B) in all upper division courses; ETEC Core ETEC 500 - prerequisite to all ETEC courses. 2.
