INTRODUCTION
 ROLE :
The University Library is a repository of knowledge. It has a role as the
heart of the University. It is a center of information and research.
 FUNCTION :
The University Library mainly functions as a supporting facility for
academic programs, research, and learning activities for students and
teachers.
 VISION STATEMENT:

In accordance with the goals and objectives of the Mindanao State
University, enshrined in its charter and anchored on the philosophy of
excellence in the exercise of its functions of instruction, research and
extension services through the various programs, the library looks at itself
as a dynamic support agency in the attainment of such avowed aspirations.
It is a library rich in resources consisting of both printed and non-printed
materials catering to the needs of the clientele and are easily accessible;
housed in spacious and comfortable facilities and administered by adequate
professionals and support staff with the librarians enjoying academic status
and benefits comparable if not better than the faculty members.

It is then the mission of the Mindanao State University library of the
locality to consistently build the collections in whatever forms and
kinds to support the degree programs.
The resources should likewise include other pertinent materials.

D. RESERVED SECTION
Consists of limited available copies of textbook and collateral

Contains publication published period by period like, journals, magazines, and
newspapers.
F. MULTI-MEDIA SECTION
Houses the electronic resources like, CDs, DVDs, and tapes; and visual
materials likes, maps, globes, posters, charts, etc.
G. E-LIBRARY SECTION
This is a facility that provides electronic resources like, general web
information (articles, pictures, music, and videos) and online subscription, like
eBooks and eJournals. This also caters printing services for the Library users.
H. TECHNICAL SECTION
Houses newly acquired library materials such as books and other electronic
resources.

C. REQUIREMENTS FOR USING THE LIBRARY/
BORROWING

University I.D. issued by the Registrar’s Office.
The barcoded I.D. shall be presented and scanned whenever
User enters the Library and/or borrow materials belonging to the
Library. The I.D. shall not be transferrable. Loss of I.D. card shall
deprive users of the library use. Every student shall register his/her
name at the Library to activate his/her user account in the database.
For new student, the following shall be the requirements for
Library Registration:

2. Recent Certificate of Registration (COR) – original or
photocopy.
