International Relations Theory
Ilias Kouskouvelis, Professor in I.R. Theory
t: @kouskouvelis
The course offers an in depth knowledge of the International Relations theory. Through the study
of classical and internationally recognized texts, such as those of Thucydides, E.H. Carr, H.
Morgenthau, H. Bull, M. Wight, K. Waltz, J. Mearsheimer, R. Keohane, and others, the students
are familiarized with the dominant International Relations theories, concepts and methodological
approaches. It is expected, at the end of the course, that students will have developed the
necessary conceptual abilities and skills in order to approach critically the I.R. theoretical issues,
and to grasp the realities of international politics.
