Introduction to Mr. Egnot
I am entering my 5th year and Piedmont and this is my 5th year of teaching as well. I am originally
from Pittsburgh, Pa and moved here to Charlotte to attend UNC-Charlotte to get my teaching license. I am
currently attending graduate school at Winthrop University. I have a real passion for social studies and I
hope to portray this to your child throughout the year. I believe strongly that having a true
understanding of the world, being able to make connections between past events and present is essential
for our goal of having this generation of students become true “Global Citizens”. I promise to work as
hard as I can to make sure the lessons we do in class are engaging and enlightening. I am so excited to get
this year started and please feel free at any time to email questions or concerns you have throughout the
year. “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence
plus character-that is the goal of true education” Dr. Martin Luther King
