PORTFOLIO REVIEW DAY AT
RYERSON UNIVERSITY
The Photography Department at the School of
Image Arts at Ryerson University is offering a
Portfolio Review Day for prospective students on
December 5th, 2014. Faculty from the department
will provide advice for students about putting
together their portfolios and what to include.

SHAD VALLEY
If you are creative and have an entrepreneurial mind in
science, math and technology look no further. Shad
Valley is an amazing 4 week summer residential
program hosted in 12 different university campuses
across Canada. The online application and more details
can be found by visiting www.shad.ca/apply. Of note,
Shad Valley provides significant financial aid based on
financial need. There are 2 deadlines November 26,
2014 and December 11, 2014 (traditionally a larger
percentage of places have been awarded to qualified
applicants whose applications are received be the

Scholarship and Bursary opportunities will be
posted weekly
It is now possible to make applications to the
Schulich Leader Scholarships. These scholarships
are specifically for students entering science,
technology, engineering or math programs (STEM
programs). If you are applying to one of these
programs, have a high average (90+), Financial
need (OSAP) and outstanding leadership than you
should consider applying. Be aware not all
universities are partners in this program. You must
do your research. See the Scholarship board for
more information.

Orchestra Toronto – Holiday Helpers
Youth volunteers for the holiday concert
“The Snowman” on Sunday, December 7th.
Examples of duties: organize and hand out
gift bags to children, help with our
instrument petting zoo (some folks or
students with experience handling musical
instruments would be very helpful); help
selling our Holiday raffle tickets and
fundraising item (likely jewellery by
StellaDot).
How to join? Just show up at the Toronto
Centre for the Arts on Sunday, December
7th, at 1:00PM. Come dressed in black to
the Stage Door entrance on the South west
corner. Proceed through to the lobby and
we’ll make sure that everyone has a task.
