Welcome to your fourth speech!
Travel Agent Speech
Our class is going on a vacation. Money is no object, but we only have two weeks. You are being
considered as our travel agent. Your job is to construct an interesting speech to inform (not
persuade) the class about an interesting destination. Maybe we will hire you!
The purpose of this speech is to practice using research and visual aids. You will research a
destination and create a PowerPoint to use in your speech. Remember, your destination needs to be
respectful and school-appropriate.
Here is what you need to do:
1. Select an interesting destination. Look at your Interest Inventory (numbers 6, 11, 14, 18).
2. Research your destination. You need to have four different sources.
3. Create a PowerPoint as your visual aid. You may not read your PowerPoint. Use the tips.
4. Construct an MLA Works Cited.
5. Write an outline and turn this in on the due date: ______________________________.
6. Practice.
When you give your speech, follow this format:

B. Give your audience a reason to listen.
C. Get your audience to trust you.
D. Give your audience the main idea.

College can be a stressful environment and learning about a magical place like

my audience because almost everyone has heard of Walt Disney World. Also,
everyone has an imagination and an inner child that can appreciate the work of
Walt Disney.
