Would you like to place directly into CSUSM’s Spanish 102? Sign up for our free review program! HOW IT WORKS: 1. Sign up by the deadline. See www.csusm.edu/loter for more information coming soon! 2. Attend Sessions. 3. Test. 4. Register for CSUSM’s Spanish 102 for the following term. 1. SIGN UP BY THE DEADLINE. Submit enrollment form to llc@csusm.edu or Kellogg 1107. Submit proof that, over two years ago, you took either at least one year of high school Spanish OR one semester of college Spanish . (Proof may be informal, eg. screen shot of your unofficial transcript.) Note that placement is first-come, first served! Please note that freshmen are not eligible for this program. 3. ATTEND SESSIONS Sessions run mid-February to end of March. Choose either 6 Thursday afternoons or 6 Friday mornings. Each meeting is 2.5 hours long and covers roughly 1 chapter from Plazas, 4th Edition. Stop by the LLC in Kellogg 11o7 to look through Plazas for more information or see list on next page. Missing more than 1 meeting WILL result in not being allowed to take the Placement Exam at ANY point in your CSUSM career. 4. TEST Testing is mandatory and will occur during the sixth meeting. If you need to test on a different day, you must consult with the LLC Director ahead of time. Failing to test on the arranged date WILL result in not being allowed to take the Placement Exam at ANY point in your CSUSM career. 5. REGISTER FOR CSUSM’s SPANISH 102 FOR THE FOLLOWING TERM *Note: About 2/3 our students place into 102; the other 1/3 place into 101. Know yourself! If you plan to take Spanish in the next term, register for 102. Results come mid-semester, so you will have time to adjust your next term’s registration if needed. LLC Director will alert you informally via email of your placement, from llc@csusm.edu. LLC Director will send a formal notice to Modern Language Studies instructors listing placements. Placement status expires after 1 year. It may be used for Summer 2016, Fall 2016 or Spring 2017. Note that this free program does NOT give units or grades, nor meet any area requirement.
