course will be collected in by your tutor on the last week for marking by the
course moderator.
This course is set at level 2 which is equivalent to GCSE grade A-C.
Agored Cymru provides national qualifications and programmers in a wide
range of subject areas and offers a local accreditation service, through
Agored Cymru that provides recognition of achievement through the award of
credit.
LEARNING HOURS
The learning hours for the course are 30 hours which equates to 3 credits
where 1 credit is equivalent to 10 hours of learning. Course attendance is
equivalent to 20 learning hours and homework is equivalent to 10 hours.
COURSEWORK
To obtain the qualification, the assessment criteria for each session, has to be
met. There are no exams. The assessment criteria often relate to activities
undertaken in class and to homework. You will be given a list of assessment
criteria and worksheets to include in your portfolio.
The coursework consists of worksheets and some homework which will be
your evidence and will be used for assessment. Each worksheet and
homework sheet on the checklist must be included in the portfolio as
Corinne Fry/Carly Mason NPT Youth Service Training Brochure 2012-2013
evidence. Provided all worksheets and homework sheets are complete and
entered into your portfolio, you should receive your credits.
HOMEWORK
The homework shows on-going learning and there is a requirement for it to be
Completed on a weekly basis so that it can be marked and discussed at the
Beginning of the next teaching session. This homework should not take long
to complete and if time permits can be done in class.
What goes into the Portfolio?
Each student is responsible for keeping a portfolio of their work during the
Agored Cymru course and each week the tutor will be available to check
through the portfolio with you. You will be given clear guidance on completing
the portfolio and what to include etc. Here are some examples of what you
will be given to include in the portfolio:

Your learning plan
(to help you see how well you are doing and think about where you want to go next)

Your assessment sheets
(to show that you have met your assessment criteria for each session. You should
have one of these for each session).

Your worksheets and homework sheets

A checklist of worksheets and homework sheets
(these show that the assessment criteria for each session has been achieved)

Copies of witness testimonies for some activities (if applicable).

An evaluation for each session
(this helps you and the tutor to think about what you have learned at each session).

A reflective journal for each session
(this helps you to look back and think about what you have learned at each session).

A statement of authenticity
(to show that the portfolio is all your own work)
The portfolios will be collected on the final week. They will then be marked. If
you have handed in all the worksheets on the checklist, you will obtain a
Pass. Accreditation can only be given if you complete the 20 hours study time
and 10 hours homework. (It is our view that the homework will take
significantly less time than this to complete.)
