You cannot serve both God and Money. Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Attitudes to guide us

As He looked up, Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “I tell you the truth” He said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” Luke 21 : 1 – 4

Giving for others

And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches.

Out of the lost severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For

I testify that they gave us as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God’s will.

2 Corinthians 8 : 1 – 5

God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His

Hebrews 6 : 10 people and continue to help them.

Consequences

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for

God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “He has scattered His gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures for ever.” Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people, but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

2 Corinthians 9 : 6 – 12

Each of us will give an account of himself to God. Romans 14 : 12

It is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. 1 Corinthians 4 : 2

The Lord Jesus said: “Whoever can be trusted with very little can be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with little will also be dishonest with much.” Luke 16 : 10

Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness! Matthew 25 : 21
