 Updated org chart posted to website. http://nsea.info/docs/toc_leadership.html
 Archived Board meeting minutes from 2000 that were available to me to the website.
http://nsea.info/docs/committees/BoardDirectors/2000_index.html
 Archived to the website 2009 Annual Report and past Annual Reports available to me.
http://nsea.info/docs/committees/BoardDirectors/2000_index.html
 Not yet archived to the website are Past Financial and Conference reports.
 Canceled phone/fax service with Vocalocity. New fax service with Nextiva set up with our old fax number and
paid through a year (only a few dollars more than Vocalocity service for 1 month). Voice phone number
changed to 972-690-8772 on the website and notice sent to members via NSEA news about the change.
 Posted all regional ASFAA conference on NSEA calendar. Sent Lynn regional ASFAA contact information to
ask them to post on their calendars. All regional ASFAA’s use ATAC as their web service provider. Posted
2010 NSEA conference on NASFAA calendar.
 Ordered NSEA impressing seal and sent gold seals to Karen for use on Above & Beyond certificates.
 Arranged for Work Book Committee meeting day before Seattle/Summer Board meeting.
 Ordered cloth lanyards for conference name tags and charged to NSEA budget rather than conference
budget with the hope they will all be recycled to use next year. One free conference registration will be drawn
from the recycled lanyards and badges.
 Forwarded HED directory to Jackie to begin membership recruitment.
 Had ATAC create a web banner on the website to celebrate 75 th year of student employment that is linked to
the NSEA Almanac to read more about the history of student employment. NSEA Almanac is now open to
anyone to access on the web. http://nsea.info/index.html
 Sent donation from NSEA in memory of George Eskro.
 Sent survey via Zoomerang to 46 members who have posted messages since October 2009 on the NSEA
listserve and the Board. Results of 24 responses shown below.
 Contacted ATAC regarding other social networking options after listserve survey closed.
This is what has been presented as a new networking option that ATAC now offers:
1. The forum/discussion board can be open to the public to read but restricted to only people who have
registered for posting – or open to anyone for posting/reading – or closed to only registered people. It’s
up to the association how you would like it set.
2. We can pre-set general topic areas or registered users can be allowed to set the topics as desired.
3. There is an online calendar available as part of the forum.
4. Members can subscribe to a particular forum to receive notifications when new information is posted.
5. Registered users can create short polls.
6.
7.
8.
The forum would be integrated into your existing website and customized to coordinate the colors,
design, etc.
$125 – initial setup and integration into existing website
$ 10 – per month (for 25,000 or less page views per month)
There is a sample demonstration board to play with if anyone is interested.
Issues that need attention and/or discussion:
 Reimburse regions for SEOTY
 Copies of Roberts Rules for each Board position
 Press release guidelines on the web—where
 2012 contract for Holiday Inn in Portland
 Completion of SET training details in New Jersey—also need clarification on joining NSEA if not already a
member
 Cincinnati & Seattle hotel contracts without TtT guest rooms, food & beverage, and function room

You have been identified as a NSEA member who has posted a message to the NSEA listserve
within the past six months. Please help the Board of Directors evaluate NSEA list serve’s
usefulness for the members by completing this short survey. Because NSEA values your
computer and network security, the listserve function does not allow responses back to the entire
listserve-only to the sender. Thank you.

Can a reply feature be added to questions posted on the list serve?
2
I've used it only to post requests for information, but it would be great if messages could be
archived for easy retrieval.
3
The Office Manager rocks.
4
Helpful tool. A good resource although it doesn’t seem as if it is used as much as it used to be.
5
I don't want to see it go away.....
6
I might use the social networks but I would have to see how you set it up. Generally speaking, I
have so much electronic stuff to keep up with it is hard to get me to do more. If it takes the place
of the listserve, ok, but I don't want to have to post in two places.
7
Since we've made sign-in required, we have fewer postings and less discussion. Although we may
now only serve legit members, I preferred the more open forum we had previously.
8
My listserve activity has really gone way down because now I have to log in and it's become less
user friendly than our old system, so I just don't use it like I used to.
9
Although I answered yes to did I get a response there were times that I did not receive a response.
It would be nice to have a team of individuals who could at least assure that one gets at least one
response or be directed accordingly.
10
I'm not sure why members have stopped replying to the list when they answer questions. The list
used to be more of a discussion forum, but that doesn't really happen anymore. Now, when I post
a question, I usually get 2-3 members who reply to me with some kind of answer, and another 3-5
who say, "please send me whatever replys you get." Wouldn't it be easier for everyone to reply to
the list?

I wished more people made contributions or returned responses.
