AP U.S. Government and Politics Case Briefs : 2015-2016
Each student will be responsible to research Supreme Court cases in the 1st quarter and complete a
one-page case brief on the case. The briefs are worth ten points each, should be typed, and should include
the following: case name, year, Chief Justice, background to the case, the issue, the decision, and your
opinion of the decision (this is the most important part of the brief).
If a student has a planned absence, the briefs are due the class before the planned absence. If an
absence is not planned, then the briefs are due the day the student returns to school. No late briefs will be
accepted for credit.
