The informal setting is ideal for sharing ideas and resources, and networking with colleagues experiencing similar challenges. Topics for discussion are participantdriven, and meetings are free and open to all ACS members. First Fridays: These free sessions offer nonprofit Executive Directors the opportunity to discuss items, issues, and best practices with their peers. Managers Toolkit Series: A monthly forum designed to introduce basic management concepts, provide for discussion of real issues, and supply resource materials on the monthly topic. Registrants must enroll in the entire series Managers Network: These free, participant-driven sessions are designed for ACS members who are graduates of the First-time Managers and Managers Toolkit Series to explore issues, share ideas, and connect with their peers. Gavel Group: These sessions, designed for board presidents, focus on specific aspects of board leadership. Each session includes a brief presentation, sharing of experiences, Q&A, and networking opportunity. General Membership Meetings: These free meetings are held eight times per year on the third Wednesday of the month. Community leaders present information on topics ranging from education to aging, health, intergenerational needs, and housing. While planned for members, these meetings are open to the public. Hot Topic: These free, members-only sessions offer informal presentations and discussion of new products, services and initiatives of interest to human service providers. Training Programs: These skill-development sessions are designed to support nonprofit staff, boards and volunteers in fulfilling their responsibilities effectively, creatively and efficiently. Past training series have focused on management, marketing, fundraising and cultural competency. These sessions are open to the public with reduced fees for ACS members.
