1. Class description :
Calendar: A detailed study of grammar through an analysis of the components of the sentence leading to
paragraph and text analysis. Emphasis is placed on the correspondence between grammatical content and
meaning. Numerous exercises will aim at developing the ability to communicate in clear, accurate, written
French.
In this class, you will review and increase your grammatical knowledge, and be made aware of the relations
between the various elements of the language and between correctness and communication. You will
develop the ability to express yourself in various ways, using a variety of constructions. Composition will
be an important component of the class, and it will allow you to put in practice the knowledge acquired in
grammar. You will be introduced to the writing of simple and complex texts, in a variety of subjects
including description, argumentation and the narrative.
