Chemistry I – Complete safety video (5 minutes). Do text book distribution. Have
students observe special chemistry “guest” demonstration and then get in groups of 3 to
discuss what they observed that was unsafe. Each group must submit a sheet with their
list.
Homework – Prepare for Lab Safety test tomorrow.
Forensics – Complete Lab 1-1 & collect.
Homework – If necessary, complete the post-lab questions from Lab 1-1.
Chemistry 1 – Take Lab Safety test. Then discuss what should be seen on a good
graph. Use Partner Graph Checklist…then use Graphing Rules for Science Classes
sheet.
Homework – Review Graphing Rules for Science Classes sheet.
Forensics – Read Lesson 1-2 & do Lab 1-2. Collect before leaving.
Homework – If necessary, complete the post-lab questions from Lab 1-1. Bring a 1

Homework – Take home Student Safety Contract to be signed by both student and
parent. Return signed copy tomorrow to teacher and pick up blank copy for their records.
Forensics – Make seating charts. Review classroom rules. Show Lincoln pennies
sheet, having the students discuss which is better – Eyewitness Accounts or Physical
Evidence when done with pennies. Discuss results and turn in sheets.

class. I will edit and add examples as needed.
Homework – Hand out Safety Symbols sheet for students to review for tomorrow &
review safety rules.
Forensics – Cut out and sign checks for Lab 1-1. Read Lesson 1-1, highlight important
areas as we discuss, use real writing samples to illustrate.
Homework – Compare list of 12 points of handwriting analysis with sample pages in
back of packet.
