Biography
H. H. Sheikha Fariha Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah
President of the Kuwait Association for The Ideal
Family and Chairman of Al-Fatat Sport Club.
The daughter of the late His Highness Sheikh Jaber AlAhmad Al-Sabah, the Tenth Ruler of Kuwait, and the sister
of both His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah, the Prince of Kuwait, and His Highness Sheikh
Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince of
Kuwait.
As a philanthropic pioneering leader, Sheikha Fariha has
achieved many charitable activities and generous
initiatives. She recently launched the Ideal Mother Award
for Outstanding Family, a remarkable project to encourage
healthy and safe family environment. She has been
supporting the Kuwaiti women and helping them to reach
the highest positions in Kiwait including the parliament.
She was granted expressive titles and awards for her role
in helping families and special needs, including:
- In 2005 H. H. was appointed the Head of the Kuwaiti
Arab Research Centre.
- In recognition of volunteer efforts; She was honored by
the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime
Transport in Egypt.
- Named (Mother of Disabled) for her efforts and
contribution in urging the government to issue new laws
and regulations that helps integrate the disabled people
into the society and preserve their rights.
- Named (Mother of Kuwaitis) in recognition of her
continued bid to meet the humanitarian appeals, and to
provide help and assistance.
- Named the the Ambassador of the Arabs, for her efforts
in bringing together the wives of ambassadors working in
Kuwait, to strengthen bilateral relations and social
development.
- In 2006 she was granted Honorary Presidency of the
Kuwaiti Theater Troupe.
- Named (The pioneer of religious tolerance) for her great
role in religions and denominations convergence, and in
supporting the churches in Kuwait.
- Was honored for her contribution in support of charity
and volunteerism.
- Named (Mother of Algerians) during a visit to Algeria in
2007.
- Honorary President of the Arab Association for Human,
administrative, social and economic Development, in
Egypt.
- Granted The National Cedar Decoration by the
Lebanese President, an award to distinguished figures in
philanthropy and volunteerism.
- Honorary President of the),Tunisian Mothers
Association, November 2007.
- Holder of the Honorary Doctorate from the American
University of Athens, for her notable contribution and
efforts in the field of volunteerism, 2008.
- Title Princess ideal Arabs) .. Eid in the world of Arab
women, Afro-Asian Highness Sheikha been selected by
the World Organization of the book and Alavriqin of Asian
and International Organization for press and media in the
January 4, 2010.
- Became President of Al Fatat Sports Club, in February
2010.
- Received the highest Medal in Poland in June 2010.
- Honorary President of the Kuwaiti Union for fishermen in
January 2011.
Her Highness Sheikha Fariha Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah is well
known for her ultimate care for needy people, she
supports the disabled and regularly visits the nursing
homes.
