The Idaho Legislature approves Senate Bill 1471, the Lottery Creation
Act, and places it on the ballot for the November general election.
November 8, 1988
Lottery ballot measure passes by popular vote of the Idaho electorate.
July 19, 1989
Idaho Lottery sells first ticket to J.R. Simplot. Sadly, it was a non-winner.
The Idaho Lottery sells $840,000 on Day One.
February 1, 1990
Idaho Lottery joins Multi-State Lottery Association and offers Idaho
Super Lotto / Lotto America.
February 10, 1990
Sue Jones, Boise, wins $2 million on Idaho Super Lotto / Lotto America.
She is the Lottery’s first millionaire.
September 4, 1990
The Idaho Lottery launches its first, Idaho only draw game, Fantastic 5.
December 29, 1990
Bill Leavell wins $7.3 million on Idaho Super Lotto and becomes the
largest Idaho Lottery winner.
February 12, 1992
Phyllis Nisbet and May McCune, Idaho Falls, win $12.3 million on Super
