November 8, 1988 Lottery ballot measure passes by popular vote of the Idaho electorate. July 19, 1989 Idaho Lottery sells first ticket to J.R. Simplot. Sadly, it was a non-winner. The Idaho Lottery sells $840,000 on Day One. February 1, 1990 Idaho Lottery joins Multi-State Lottery Association and offers Idaho Super Lotto / Lotto America. February 10, 1990 Sue Jones, Boise, wins $2 million on Idaho Super Lotto / Lotto America. She is the Lottery’s first millionaire. September 4, 1990 The Idaho Lottery launches its first, Idaho only draw game, Fantastic 5. December 29, 1990 Bill Leavell wins $7.3 million on Idaho Super Lotto and becomes the largest Idaho Lottery winner. February 12, 1992 Phyllis Nisbet and May McCune, Idaho Falls, win $12.3 million on Super Lotto and become the largest Idaho Lottery winners. February 18, 1992 The Lottery introduces Idaho Playdays, its first $2 scratch game. April 19, 1992 Super Lotto / Lotto America becomes Powerball. November 16, 1992 Fred and Martha Gibbons win $22.1 million on Powerball and become largest Idaho Lottery winners. February 21, 1994 Idaho Lottery offers Tri-West Lotto. August 16, 1994 The Lottery introduces its first $3 scratch game, Bingo. June 5, 1995 Pam Hiatt wins $87,585,066 on Powerball; becomes the largest Idaho Lottery winner. November 15, 1995 The Idaho Lottery introduces Monte Carlo, its first $5 scratch game. July 1996 The Idaho Lottery passes $100 million in dividends to the State of Idaho. December 25, 1996 The Robinson’s/Seagraves’s win $48.2 million Powerball jackpot on Christmas night. February 1998 Tri-West becomes Wild Card. May 18, 1999 The 10th Anniversary Game is introduced, the Lottery’s first $10 ticket. January 1, 2000 Idaho launches its VIP Club, the first for any Lottery in North America. June 5, 2000 Idaho Lottery launches Idaho Pick 3, its first daily draw game. October 6, 2001 The first Scratch for Schools event is held at Boise Towne Square Mall. June 30, 2001 The Idaho Lottery returns dividends topping $200 million since Day One. July 10, 2001 The Idaho Lottery introduces its first $7 scratch game, Super Lucky 7s. June 30, 2002 The Idaho Lottery reaches $1 billion in total sales. February 3, 2004 150 Grand, 15th Anniversary scratch game is launched, the first $15 ticket. December 21, 2004 Set for Life launches, has highest scratch game prize ever of $1 million. May 28, 2005 Brad Duke wins $220.2 million on Powerball and become largest Idaho Lottery winner of all time. July 2005 The Idaho Lottery surpasses the $300 million dividend threshold. February 18, 2006 The Lottery sells $1,469,380 in Powerball sales, a single day, single game record, for that night’s record $365 million Powerball jackpot. October 1, 2007 Idaho Lottery offers Hot Lotto. November 11, 2007 Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle tickets go on sale. It sells out in 35 days later. February 12, 2008 Idaho State University in Pocatello hosts the single largest Scratch for Schools event with 45 schools participating. June 26, 2008 The Lottery records their 16th winner of $200,000 or more on Powerball in one year. July 7, 2008 The Idaho Lottery crosses the $400 million dividend mark. February 23, 2009 Lottery celebrates their 20th Anniversary with their first $20 scratch ticket. May 3, 2009 Idaho Lottery launches Double Play Daily, its first $2 Draw Game. July 21, 2009 The Idaho Lottery returns largest dividend in its history of $35 million, twenty years after Day One.
