Executive House keeper
- Front office staff, Maintenance,
Food and Beverage department.
1.
To supervise and instruct all Room Attendants on the floor on how to do the job and schedules work for the attendants.
2.
Ensures prompt handling of all guests’ requests as pertains to housekeeping in the rooms.
3.
Inspects on a daily basis all assigned rooms for cleanliness and maintenance.
4.
Reports all maintenance deficiencies in rooms and floor to the maintenance department and ensures follow up is done upto completion of task.
5.
Checks work standards and work flow in the rooms.
6.
Updates daily room status in the system and coordinates with the Front
Desk on the same.
7.
Ensures that all guest supplies/amenities are available in the rooms as per the SOP.
8.
Prepares stores requisitions for any shortfall in supplies for signing by the
Executive Housekeeper or the Deputy.
9.
Gives recommendations on employee performance and discipline for appropriate action by the Executive Housekeeper or the Deputy.
10.
Ensures proper cost control is maintained in the area of work.
11.
Ensures that the care of assets programme is followed and proper care of assets and equipment in area of jurisdiction is adhered to at all times.
12.
Ensures that all VIP rooms and Honeymoon suites are doubly inspected by the Executive Housekeeper or the Deputy.
Authority:
All authority through the Executive Housekeeper.

Required experience:
At least 2 years experience in similar position or 3 years experience as a
Guest Room Attendant.
Technical requirements:
FIDELIO hotel system knowledge.
Supervisory skills.
Ability to train and instruct.
Ability to motivate staff and counsel them.
Ability to decipher Standard Operating Procedures and implement the same.
Decoration and development of required ambience.
Knowledge in Fire safety and emergency evacuation necessary.
First aid knowledge an advantage.
Educational requirements:
Minimum ‘A’ Level education.
Hotel school graduate (Diploma) in House keeping management or equivalent.
Language and communication
Must be able to communicate (both in writing and verbally) in English and
Swahili.
