Managing self- students will be shown a circuit training program they will work independently to carry out as many
exercises as they can in a 40 second window.

Starter
Introduce today session which is a circuit
training program. ( individual load, as many
exercises as you can in a time period).
Discuss the principles of training associated with
circuit training.
Circuit training
Frequency- 3-5 times per week.
Intensity- can change to fixed load program.
Duration- 40seconds on 15 seconds duration.
Overload- decrease rest time, increase exercise
duration.
Ask the boys to do whole body stretches. As we
will be working the whole body.
Today’s lesson will be focused on endurance- 15
reps 2-3 sets minimal rest.
30mins
See stations below:
1. Squats
2. Push ups
3. Skipping.
4. Wall sit and hold
5. Burpees
6. Sitting cycle legs
7. Box jumps
8. dips
9. Prone hold
10. Agility runs
Cool down/ stretches and log sheet.
Print of the station names onto A4 and place them in the
relevant areas in the gym.
Place the boys at different starting points about 2-3 per
group.
Time the boys 40 seconds, each group will move round on
your call.

Reflection
Recap the key point of circuit training? How
could we make it more specific to sports?
Tailor to muscle groups, fitness requirements.
Students are required as part of the credits to keep a log of
different methods of training.
Emphasis with cool down to help muscles relax quicker,
and remove lactic acid.
